The Télémixte Esserts-Savoleyres is the new hybrid gondola and chairlift linking the Verbier sector to Savoleyres-La Tzoumaz without taking your skis off. It combines 10-seater cabins and 6-seater chairs on two sections: Les Esserts – Les Planards, then Les Planards – Savoleyres. The full line is due to open for winter 2026/27.

What is the Savoleyres Télémixte?
A télémixte is a hybrid lift: closed cabins and open chairs run on the same cable. Skiers in a hurry take a chair; pedestrians, families and anyone feeling the cold take a cabin.
The Savoleyres line, built by Doppelmayr-Garaventa for Téléverbier, has 59 Omega V cabins seating 10 across both sections and 30 six-seater chairs on the upper Planards – Savoleyres section. It replaces two 1970s lifts: the old Savoleyres gondola and the Sud drag lift.
Where does it go, and how long does it take?
- Les Esserts (approx. 1,700 m) → Les Planards: about 6.5 minutes by cabin, 1,675 people per hour.
- Les Planards → Savoleyres (2,344 m): about 5.3 minutes by cabin or chair, 2,650 people per hour.
That's roughly 12 minutes from Les Esserts to the top of Savoleyres, at 6 m/s. Stations and cabins are step-free, so pushchairs, bikes and people with reduced mobility can board easily.
What changes for skiers?
Until now, getting from the Verbier sector (Médran, Les Ruinettes) to Savoleyres-La Tzoumaz meant crossing the village by bus. With the Télémixte, the whole connection is done on skis.
A new piste runs from Le Carrefour down to Les Esserts station. To avoid the Rouge drag lift, it passes underground through a steel culvert, then a partly open concrete tunnel, before continuing through the forest. In practice you can now ski Les Ruinettes, Le Carrefour, Les Esserts and Savoleyres, then drop onto La Tzoumaz's family-friendly slopes.
The upper section also works on its own for laps on Savoleyres: you ride back up from Les Planards without going all the way down to the resort.
When does it open?
Work began in November 2024. The Les Planards – Savoleyres section has been running since December 2025. The Les Esserts – Les Planards section, completing the link, is scheduled for December 2026, at the start of the 2026/27 winter season. By mid-September 2026 the cable and all nine towers of the lower section were in place and the first cabins were in the Les Esserts garage.
The historic Verbier – Savoleyres gondola, in service since 1970, made its final run on 30 August 2026 after some 16 million passengers.
Does the Télémixte run in summer?
Yes. Téléverbier designed it for skiers but also for walkers and cyclists, summer and winter. From the Les Planards mid-station, the Croix-de-Cœur pass and its trails are within easy reach. Summer details (timetable, inclusion in the VIP Pass) will be published by Verbier 4Vallées for summer 2027.
Do I need a special lift pass?
No. The Télémixte is part of the Verbier 4Vallées ski area and is covered by both the 4 Vallées and Verbier – La Tzoumaz passes. For this season's prices, see Verbier ski pass prices 2026/27.
Where to stay near the Télémixte?

Frequently asked questions
Where is the Télémixte bottom station?
At Les Esserts, above Verbier village, at about 1,700 m. You can ski there on the new piste from Le Carrefour, or walk up from the village.
Can I ride in a cabin rather than a chair?
Yes. The lower section (Esserts – Planards) is cabins only. On the upper section you choose between a closed cabin and an open chair.
Does the Télémixte replace the Savoleyres gondola?
Yes. The old Verbier – Savoleyres gondola closed for good on 30 August 2026, and the Sud drag lift has been replaced by the Planards – Savoleyres section.
How long does it take to ski from Verbier to La Tzoumaz?
About 12 minutes of lift from Les Esserts to the top of Savoleyres, then the run down to La Tzoumaz. Total time depends on where you start and which pistes you take.
