Free shuttle bus on a snowy road in Verbier, between chalets and the gondola

FAQ – Getting around Verbier

Shuttles, car parks, gondola: how to get around Verbier

In Verbier, the car usually stays parked: free shuttle buses serve every part of the resort and the ski lifts, and the gondola links the resort with Le Châble railway station. Here are the answers to the questions our guests ask most often about getting around, in summer and winter.

Timetables and prices recorded for winter 2025/26 and summer 2026, for guidance only: the 2026/27 timetables are published by Verbier Tourism at the start of the season. Only the information published by the operators is binding, and no liability can be derived from the content of this page.

No. Free shuttle buses serve the residential areas, the centre and the lift stations, and most journeys are easy on foot or by bus. There is no car park right at the lift stations, so the shuttle is simpler than the car for skiing. If you arrive by train, the Le Châble gondola drops you in the heart of the resort.

Yes, the resort shuttle buses are free all year round. In winter, 7 colour-coded lines link the village, Médran, Savoleyres, Les Esserts, Le Hameau, Patier and the car parks. The red, green and yellow lines run about every 15 minutes from 8 am to 7 pm, then every 30 minutes until around 7:45 pm. All of them stop at Médran and Place Centrale. A reduced service runs in summer.

Yes. In winter 2025/26:

  • Early-bird bus (line 8): first departure from Médran at 6:20 am, for staff and early skiers.
  • Lunabus (line 11): every 30 minutes from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm from Ermitage, via Médran, Savoleyres and Le Hameau.
  • Verbier – Le Châble night bus: leaves Verbier (Post office) at 12:45 am and Le Châble at 1:45 am, CHF 5 paid in cash to the driver.

After that, a night taxi service runs in winter.

The easiest way is the Le Châble – Verbier gondola, right next to the railway station. It runs from 5:10 am to 11:55 pm, summer and winter, and arrives at Médran. A single costs CHF 6.40 and a return CHF 12.80; since December 2021 it has been recognised as public transport, so the Half Fare travelcard and GA travelcard are accepted. A bus also links Le Châble and Verbier (about CHF 6), and a taxi costs around CHF 60. Coming from Geneva? See our article on the Verbier Express.

The resort's main public car parks:

  • Marais Verts (centre, covered, about 230 spaces): 90 minutes free, then CHF 2.50 per hour in winter, up to CHF 20 per 24 hours.
  • Ermitage (opposite the tourist office, 100 spaces): 90 minutes free, then CHF 1.50 per 20 minutes in winter.
  • Catogne (100 spaces): 90 minutes free.
  • Périn (near the sports centre, 400 spaces): first 24 hours free, then CHF 5 per 24 hours; a shuttle links it to Médran.

For a stay, also check whether your accommodation has a private parking space.

Yes. The Le Châble car parks, at the foot of the gondola, are free: about 800 spaces across four car parks (P1 to P4). Parking is limited to 10 days and not allowed between midnight and 5 am. It is a good option for day visitors, who then take the gondola up to Verbier.

The shuttle buses serve Médran (gondolas to Les Ruinettes) and Savoleyres. The ski schools' meeting point (stop no. 17) can only be reached by shuttle bus line 1: private cars may not drop off there. From December 2026, the new Télémixte Esserts-Savoleyres also links the Verbier sector with Savoleyres-La Tzoumaz without taking your skis off.

From Médran, where the Le Châble gondola arrives: about 8 minutes to Place Centrale, 10 minutes to the tourist office, 25 minutes to the sports centre and 25 minutes to the Savoleyres gondola. The streets are steep, so wear good shoes in winter.

Yes, but Verbier is very steep, so an e-bike is strongly recommended. Bikes are allowed on the Le Châble – Verbier gondola in summer and winter. At Le Châble station, a paid bike park and free bike racks are located between the station and the gondola.

Several taxi companies operate in Verbier, and the tourist office keeps a list. In winter, a night taxi service can be reached free of charge on 0800 771 771 (May Taxi & Limousine). For a transfer from Geneva airport, book ahead, especially during school holidays.

Largely, yes. From 1 June to 31 October, anyone staying at least one night and paying the tourist tax receives the VIP Pass: the Le Châble – Verbier gondola and several lifts, the destination buses and the Le Châble – Sembrancher train are included. Simple rule: 1 night = 1 day of VIP Pass.

From Le Châble station, the Saint-Bernard Express train reaches Martigny in about 25 minutes, with connections to Lausanne and Geneva. PostBuses serve Bruson, Lourtier, Sarreyer, Fionnay and Mauvoisin, as well as Orsières via Sembrancher. Staying in Verbier?
